When Ambassador Shefali Razdan Duggal arrived in the Netherlands two years ago, she embarked on a mission to strengthen the long-standing friendship between the United States and the Netherlands. From her very first day, she worked tirelessly to deepen the partnership between our nations, addressing shared challenges and fostering collaboration in areas such as climate action, security, and trade.

Ambassador Razdan Duggal played a key role in celebrating and enhancing cultural and educational exchanges, honouring our shared history while championing innovation and progress. Her outreach to communities across the Netherlands brought people closer together, emphasising the values we hold in common.

As she concludes her tenure, Ambassador Razdan Duggal reflects with gratitude on the kindness and warmth of the Dutch people and the extraordinary moments she experienced in service to this vital transatlantic relationship.

Ambassador Razdan Duggal stated: “Such memorable moments at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence as I prepared for my farewell audience with His Majesty King Willem-Alexander at Paleis Huis ten Bosch. I was deeply honoured to express my genuine appreciation to His Majesty for the enduring strength of the U.S.-Netherlands relationship over the past two years and also for his personal kindness towards me whenever I interacted with him.”
