And it was time to say goodbye…. A bid farewell was organized for H.E. Mrs. Irene F.M. Kasyanju, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania, Permanent Representation of the United Republic of Tanzania to the OPCW and Dean of the African Ambassadors to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, at Diplomat Club Wassenaar – Kasteel De Wittenburg.

During an intimate gathering in the castle’s library, a bouquet of flowers was presented to Her Excellency by the President/Director of Diplomat Club Wassenaar, Mrs. Shida Bliek, in the presence of Ambassador, Director-General of the OPCW, H.E. Mr. Fernando Arias, the Mayor of Wassenaar, H.E. Mr. Leendert de Lange, the Managing Director of the CFC, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Belal and the President of the TenRande Foundation, Mr. Peter Bliek. 

Mrs. Bliek warmly thanked Her Excellency for her honorary membership of the club and the many activities she organized here during her posting in the Netherlands, including the wonderful Tanzanian National day celebrations and Africa Day.

A few hours beforehand, H.E. Mrs. Irene F. M. Kasyanju, had announced the end of her tour of duty as Ambassador of Tanzania to the Netherlands during her speech in her capacity of Dean of the African Ambassadors held in the castle’s Oranje Nassau ballroom during Africa Day celebrations. Her Excellency stated: “This year’s celebration is of particular importance to me as it marks the end of my tour of duty as the Ambassador of Tanzania to the Netherlands. A position I have happily held for over six and a half years. This could not have been possible without the unwavering support I received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the African Group Ambassadors, and the entire Diplomatic Corps fraternity. I do not have a better way to extend my appreciation to you than by saying “thank you so much”.
